Music - Always
"Where words fail, music speaks" This observation by Hans Christian Anderson captures the foundation of our mission...and puts the "Rock" in We Rock Cancer. We combine the power of live performance with health awareness to create a unique approach to our dual mission: increase performance opportunities for artists, while removing barriers to health care access for audiences.
Early Detection
Taking steps to protect your skin should be a part of your daily routine. Adding early detection screenings to your health care routine will allow you to identify and address any problem areas in a timely manner. We provide free skin cancer checks at every We Rock Cancer event, and we take our skin checks on the road to at-risk and under-served workers in high exposure occupations and workplaces.
Prevention
Prevention is the preferred approach to avoiding skin cancer. Avoid unnecessary exposure, use protective products when you are exposed, and consider alternatives to sun tanning. We work with our partners to provide products and information to help prevent exposure that might lead to skin cancer. Read more about the options here.
Education
Awareness of the different types of skin cancer will help you to identify potential problem areas that need attention. We Rock Cancer distributes information at every event to increase awareness of skin cancer risks, preventative measures, and screening options.
